We'll meet again Sunday at 6 p.m at the Brick House.
Several items to be aware of:
1. Audio Quality
We have switched from Bellsouth DSL to Insight Broadband Cable and are
experiencing significant interruptions in our upload connection to the
Internet (and therefore to our Internet streamer and to our
transmitter). This is resulting in a rather choppy signal and may cause
your Internet stream player to disconnect.
I've tried increasing the buffer sizes with mixed success. I'll call
Insight to see if they can troubleshoot it for us. But we may not get
any improvement until Monday. If Insight can't help, we'll have to go
back to DSL.
2. Programming
This week we received our first program from the Newburg Youth Council.
We played this last night at 6:30 p.m. and have repeated it several
times. It was very professionally produced and they plan on supplying us
programs on a regular basis. This is a great step toward
community-generated programming from our listening area! (Thanks are due
to Mark McKinley for doing much groundwork in getting this done.)
We also just received (also through Mark) a new installment of Health
Care For All from Garrett Adams. This is a transcript of an interview he
had on a radio program in Tennessee.
Last week we received (via Aron) two new installments of Kim Sorise's
River City Soul Club program. We're playing the first of the two right now.
The Radio Free Nashville stream is down at present. Not sure why. In the
meantime I have set up a rotation of:
--the Newburg Youth Council program
--the latest Health Care For All
--the first of Kim Sorise's two new programs
Tune in and see what you think.
See you Sunday at 6 at the Brick House!
--John
