All interested in seeing the Brick House Radio succeed,
It would be nice to see if we could have a fresh spinster step up to
choreograph this manipulative redressing of the situation.
Just as George Bush and his buds stepping into the White House has given
transparency to the corrupt politics in Washington, Big Business and the
bought out media, we would like to hear other voices.
It is an insult to have John Hicks rephrasing what Mark means in every email
he sends out. Come on! This is politics and the whole picture is being
Whitewashed and spun contantly.
In my humble opinion, the whitewashing that seems to be so quick to be
thrown on is covering up a real efort to drain the radio of more money.
Anyone who does not see this is obviously being spun.
Also I believe that it would be in everyones best interest to be aware of
where John Hicks is speaking from. His so called healing is done at his own
convenience to attempt to stop legitimate criticisms and concerns. Shit is
merely sick around here because something is merely rotten in Denmark.
I would like to appeal to everyone in saying that Johns attempt and success
in being the center of attention at the Brick House has damaged the Radio
Project severely. The question has become; Are you going to follow a large
group of people who are driven to get the radio on the air with full
openness and disclosure or are you going to listen to the guy who has the
entire setup of the radio and the Brick House in the palm of his hand? John
controls the servers that stream the radio and store all radio content. He
has the radio computer in his house. He owns the server that controls all
the email lists that we are using right now. He has complete control over
the website for the Brick House. I could probably go on, but I have other
things to do. Basically he is toeing the line at different times to
manipulate the outcomes of the operations of the Brick House and the Radio.
In closing I recommend that the control of the Radio and the Brick House
power structure be distributed in a more open and accessible way.
If no one in the Building Collective (that means non-radio people) wants to
challenge that, then fine by me. That is certainly your right.
But there is a move right now to set the radio project into a safer, less
centralized position within the Brick House Organization. We are not and
will not be leaving the assication of the BRYCC House incorporated if given
security as an autonomous Brick House Collective. But we will be moving to
make a clear distiction between the operations of the Radio station and the
control of those who appear to be trying to manipulate the Radio Resources
to siphen money into the Building.
Please be aware that nothing will change really except the integrity of the
radio operation and our ability to move forward and put your good radio
money where you intended it to go.

Thanks for the clarity at last, Mark. Finally we know how you really feel
about building the Brick House into a viable and valuable public resource
(vs. folding it into nothing more than a radio station). Wish we had had
this conversation earlier ... in place of the ones we did have.
Congratulations are due to fellow board member David Morrison who had the
courage to bring this issue to a head at last week's meeting so the truth
would come out. I was busily scurrying around in the background trying to
placate everyone, keep the plates spinning, the house of cards standing.
Dave felt it was better to call a spade a spade. Dave was right. I was
wrong. Make a note of that, folks, and learn from it as I have.
Let me make it clear that I believe Mark is a good soul who really wants to
do the right thing. He has poured his heart into the radio project for the
last two years, concentrating his efforts on "bringing a voice to the
voiceless," reaching out to communities that have not had a voice and
working with them to produce radio programs. I hope he continues to be a
part of us.

And that's exactly what we are doing. In six months time, we've gone from $0
income to $1200 a month. We need to double that. But then we've only just
begun.
And so concludes this episode of Brick House Drama.
Thanks, Sandie, for lending us your forum for this little family therapy
session.
