No Meeting. As I mentioned in my reply to Rick, I'm going to be holed up
in Spencer County for the weekend trying to get caught up on a personal
project so there will not be a meeting this weekend. (I will try to
check my email but may be away from the Internet. You can contact me via
phone at 213-0428.)

In the meantime, here is a quick status report:

Time-share begins. Fern Creek's WFHS went back on the air on Monday. And
so our time-sharing schedule began for the first time.
WFHS is on the air:
--Weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
--Tuesday and Friday afternoons and evenings from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
We have the remaining hours:
--All weekend.
--All night from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
--Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons and evenings from 4:00 p.m. on.

We plan to continue to stream 24/7.

Hiccups cured. We feel pretty sure we have found the reason for the
"hiccups," the breaks in our signal that have occurred since we moved
into our studio. It appears to be due to the router we were using. Once
we are sure we have cured the problem we will resume streaming at 128k,
much better quality than the current 64k we have been streaming lately.

Streaming temporarily down, but broadcast continues. As I explained in
my reply to Rick, while curing the hiccups, I managed to screw up the
configuration of the sound cards. I'm working on solving that now, but
in the meantime streaming is down but we are broadcasting on air,
actually rebroadcasting Nashville's WRFN (taking care to do our station
ID at the top of each hour).

Studio is now air-conditioned. We have successfully jury rigged a window
AC unit to cool the studio. It's just an old 5000 BTU unit that is not
at all sufficient for these 106 degree days, but hopefully will suffice
once the weather gets more reasonable.

Programming. We are expecting new programming from three sources. One
new music show and two topical talk shows. (We still need much more!)

Next Step: Sound Studio. As soon as we get the streaming going, we will
start to work on miking the studio so we can do recording and live
programming.

And after that our plate will still be very full: Outreach,
fund-raising, listener feedback via the web site, program web pages and
archives, cetera et cetera.
