Hello,

It's a nice idea, but it's not going to help us in the long run.  We do 
not need
to know our height in sea level footage.  What we do need to know is HAAT or
height above average terrain.  To measure that, you need to plot at least 16
data points at a certain distance from your transmitter and average the 
heights
to get your average HAAT.  Then it is just a matter of adding the 
height of the
building, mast, antenna...

Topo maps are free at the library and there is some program that the 
former WFPK
engineer had that would let you basically "fly" over the city and let 
you see at
least the land itself in a topo format.  I will ask him what that was.  If we
can get a program for the cost of a list...

A 20 meter tall building that was on a hillock that was 20 meters HAAT 
would put
us over 40 meters HAAT at antenna height.  We can't mount an antenna to 
the side
of the building as this will skew our propagation (which must be omni). 
  The FCC
has partially figured this out for us in the CP so I think our best bet 
would be
to get up and running at the "flashcube" building if at all possible and then
immediately start looking for an ideal sight to move to.

We have 5 months from yesterday.
