[WXBH-Discuss] Correction: WXBH and Fern Creek licenses run concurrently

I posted on 5/16 that Prometheus told me we would have to give up our
license in four years to Fern Creek. That appears to be incorrect.

Today I called Ted Boehm, who operates the Fern Creek Alumni
Association. He said they were proceeding to put up their antenna now.

That confused me, so tonight I went to the FCC site and (with some
difficulty) looked up the actual construction permits for both stations.
Sure nuff: they both were granted on the same day and have the same 18
month deadline. Both say they are non-renewable and that subsequent
terms must be shared with the other.

I'll try to call Prometheus on Tuesday to verify all this, but it sure
appears either they were misinformed or I grossly misunderstood them.

I've posted the construction permits on our site. Links are on the
datalinks page: http://wxbh.org/datalinks.html

The permits are in PDF format:
http://wxbh.org/pages/ConstructionPermitWXBH.pdf
http://wxbh.org/pages/ConstructionPermitFernCreek570513.pdf

There does appear to be some downside in that both licenses are termed
"non-renewable", but since both permits refer to sharing subsequent
licensing terms with the other party, it appears there is a way to renew
or at least reapply.

If this is the case, I'm sure you all agree this is good news.
Louisville will get two new LPFM stations, not one. (And, as an old Fern
Creeker, I'm kind of happy for them.)

I'll try to make more contact with Fern Creek to see if we can't be
working together a bit more.
