Paul and other techies,
ISDN hardware can easily be attained for extremely cheap or even free. I
have a knack for finding/procuring odd hardware like that, especially since
not too many people are using ISDN much anymore. I'm pretty sure ISDN
*does* in fact travel over the internet. I'm not too sure if it's possible
but there may be ways to hack together some point to point communication
using hardware modems and multiple lines, such as shotgunning multiple
56k/64k modems together to create your ISDN. There are other options but,
an antenna with LOS from the studio would make things 100x easier (not to
mention cheaper). Dependong on how far we have to shoot a signal it may be
possible to do it with conventional 802.11b wireless equipment. Assuming
that we do have LOS there have been documented links that carry over 70km
with it. It may be a cheaper and faster link between than microwave.
I'm a hacker, not an engineer. You guys surely know more about this than I
do.
