Other thoughts on antenna relocation: Try triangulation with three landmarks
within the areas you wish to serve to explore for suitable sites. Say you
want to cover Old Louisville/U of L Belknap Campus (landmark corner 4th &
Hill Sts.), The Highlands (Bardstown Rd. & Eastern Parkway), and Crescent
Hill (Ewing & Frankfort Aves.) with the best possible signal.

Plot those 3 locations on a map, draw and measure the sides of the triangle
to at least 0.1 km accuracy. Approximate the center of the triangle's area.
That centerpoint is the optimal location for your antenna. (A 5-mile radius
circle drawn from the centerpoint will also show you a fair approximation of
   your overall LPFM signal footprint.)

If possible, plot all this on a USGS topographical map-this type map shows
land elevations and benchmarks, used to figure antenna site elevation
and "height above average terrain," or "HAAT" for the FCC forms. The hight
of the structure or tower holding the antenna and the antenna's height above
ground also must be known in both feet and meters.

Identify a structure or tower at least 100' high, clear of the nearby
treeline and not immediately adjacent to other tall structures, as close to
the centerpoint as you can get. This is where your antenna should go. Of
course, in this imperfect world, your centerpoint will probably be in a
   sinkhole or somebody's backyard!

By the way, have you secured a communications lawyer or certifiied engineer
yet? I can do the local legwork for them, I hold a FCC General license and I
know all the requirements to operate a radio or TV station as a designated
chief operator, but I'm not a CE or RPE (registered professional
engineer)-those folks work forand/or own engineering firms. My primary jobs
are television production and broadcast faciliity design.

I'll help when and where I can, realizing that you've got to get the major
change application (with the new site confirmed) ready for the FCC so your
construction permit can be modified and re-issued ASAP.
