ok folks... forecastle report
the tent is up and table in place and we have minimal literature if any at all... i did not book this even and am not the point person for any particular initiative that i know of with regards to this event.... anyone make copies of arons flyer?
we have bikes tshirts and cds for merch... we have help from creative writing, bikes and gardening for friday as i promised.... we have no transport for the merch, coolers or christina who is willing to front the table responsibilities 11am to 11pm
i am reporting back that as of 6am (the time when i get up to go to work) i currently have only one member of radio slated to work the brick booth for forecastle and that would be john wilborn .... i have no scheduled time slot specifically for his presence so at this point i seem to think that a bit of communication and cooperation would be great and reflect some solid values which are needed to get community behind us
from the start i have stated that i had to work until 4pm on friday and 5pm on saturday so i am providing christina baldons cell number which is equipted with plenty of minutes if people need to call from the front gate to request delivery of passes for workers at the door... we do have the tent set up so that merch can be locked away and the table can be semi-secure in case of bathroom or pass delivery needs
please call .... your support of our work at this event seems crucial
contact person for forecastle: christina baldon 802-2557
thanks for your time... please pass the word

WXBH needs your help manning our table at Forecastle Festival this
Friday and Saturday.
Forecastle is the major "alternative/progressive" (to coin a phrase)
event of the year, and it's imperative that we have a presence there and
spread the word about our new people's medium.
It's being held at the new Mellwood Arts Center this year and, as you
probably know, lots of great bands and musicians will be performing.
Artists will exhibit. And activists will be active. (The festival is
themed on "music, arts, and activism".)
Brick House/WXBH will have a table there where we will be spreading the
word and trying to get some people and organizations interested in
producing programming.
We have two passes to trade about for booth volunteers and now need
volunteers to use them. We're asking for two-hour shifts, although
anything will be greatly appreciated.
If you can help, please let us know by either:
--replying to the list with availability and contact info
--calling Kristen Shelor at 458-9959
--writing Kristen at radioelectric at yahoo.com
(The small print: Please note that we have only two passes and they are
for manning the table. You'll have to pass off your pass to whoever
relieves you. In other word, the "Free passes" headline on this message
was typical Madison Avenue hype to get your attention while we sell you
something, in this case the idea of improving the world a little by
helping to man/woman our table.)

Your help is greatly needed and will be greatly appreciated.
--John (who would, of course, be the first to volunteer but, er, um,
unfortunately is skipping town this weekend to attend [quite selflessly
I assure you] a community radio conference in Wisconsin)
