WXBH needs your help manning our table at Forecastle Festival this
Friday and Saturday.
Forecastle is the major "alternative/progressive" (to coin a phrase)
event of the year, and it's imperative that we have a presence there and
spread the word about our new people's medium.
It's being held at the new Mellwood Arts Center this year and, as you
probably know, lots of great bands and musicians will be performing.
Artists will exhibit. And activists will be active. (The festival is
themed on "music, arts, and activism".)
Brick House/WXBH will have a table there where we will be spreading the
word and trying to get some people and organizations interested in
producing programming.
We have two passes to trade about for booth volunteers and now need
volunteers to use them. We're asking for two-hour shifts, although
anything will be greatly appreciated.
If you can help, please let us know by either:
--replying to the list with availability and contact info
--calling Kristen Shelor at 458-9959
--writing Kristen at radioelectric at yahoo.com
(The small print: Please note that we have only two passes and they are
for manning the table. You'll have to pass off your pass to whoever
relieves you. In other word, the "Free passes" headline on this message
was typical Madison Avenue hype to get your attention while we sell you
something, in this case the idea of improving the world a little by
helping to man/woman our table.)
Forecastle is the major "alternative/progressive" (to coin a phrase)

spread the word about our new people's medium. (Or did I say that already?)
Your help is greatly needed and will be greatly appreciated.
--John (who would, of course, be the first to volunteer but, er, um,
unfortunately is skipping town this weekend to attend [quite selflessly
I assure you] a community radio conference in Wisconsin)
