Hey programmers, 

Who's going to be in charge of contacting interested people? Any takers? I don't have a local phone, so that makes it hard for people to get in touch with me a lot of times, and expensive for me to call them. But I can do it if there are no other takers.

 Description of your show:

 "Bike Talk" would talk about bicycling issues in Louisville.  The model
would be "Car Talk", with a goal of being 1/4th as funny.  There is a
large cadre of people working to make our fair city survivable for people
who want to use their bikes as serious transportation.  One problem with
grassroots movements, its its hard for the left arm to know what the
right arm is doing.  All arms will be invited to be on-the-air guests and
listeners.  Thus we can help move policy forward at the same time we're
involving the public.

 Other guests could include bike shop owners, prominent Kentucky cyclists,
e.g. Joe Ward, author of the book "cycling around Louisville".

 Length of the show: 30 minutes

 How often do you hope it will air? weekly

 Do you see yourself having a live or taped show?
 Live, to support call-ins.

 What do you think that you can bring to WXBH?
 How does your program idea fit in with our mission statement?:
  "WXBH will be a community supported, locally-controlled alternative to
major commercial radio stations that dominate Louisville's radio market.
We believe the public airwaves should be an egalitarian vehicle for
expressing diverse perspectives, inspiring social change, and
encouraging cultural equity. We will provide community members with
training, infrastructure, and access to public airwaves to develop and
broadcast representative grassroots programming."
  Bicycling is  sustainable transportation. Even with massive government
subsidies to automobiles, bicycling STILL has a much lower costs than
driving. It is healthy.  It is fun.  It is emission-free. And it fosters
community like all get-out.

 The city is in the process of rethinking its urban layout in order to
make bicycling a more attractive transportation option.  This is an
exciting time for Louisville's bicycling community - social change for
the better, led by grassroots support and backed by the elected
leadership.  This is a happy story of Louisville's governing system
(mostly) working the way it is supposed to.
