My Computer is back to the land of the living!!!
Hope everyone is doing well.
A few issues:
FOURTH OF JULY: It seems as though most people wanted to take the coming
holiday off from radio. So it was decided no meeting July 4th. I am
concerned about the short period of time we have left in July after that,
leading up to Forecastle. We may want to consider making the monthly Board
Meeting short on the 11th and focusing mostly on radio business. (For those
not present at the last meeting, it was decided that the Brick Radio
Collective would temporarily step into the Board of Directors position at
the Brick House until we are on the air.)
RADIO COMPUTERS: Corey and I (mostly Corey) went to the Computer Room at the
Brick House last Thursday and worked on getting one up and running. Seems as
though we can pull something together, but we really need some more, better
computer components. If anyone has access to any decent donate-able
computers or knows someone who can give us a good machine, we are definitely
in need. RAM (Memory) is one thing we need badly. Corey can tell us what
kind exactly
Corey, I have a Pentium III processor that we can throw into
the right machine.
CONTENT: I am working on a brochure that we can pass out to solicit
submissions from potential show producers and organizations for the
webstream.
XEROXING: Does anyone have access to free copying services?
LEO MAGAZINE: It appears as though Stephen would like to do the story on the
Web Stream if we can (depending on antenna status and all ;) This would
likely coincide with the Forecastle weekend or could be a week or so later.
FORECASTLE: I guess we can call the following email bellow confirmation
for our table at the Forecastle Event. We will have some sort of badge to
get in and will have to swap them at the gate to get our volunteers in (no
free admission for the entire day). We can coordinate how to make this
happen as we get further into the month of July.
Again this is going to be a great, if not our best opportunity to get the
word out and get some listeners and possible support. We need to do our best
to evolve our aesthetic presentation of WXBH, even to an impressive and
inspiring level. So anyone with some ideas and time, lets get this
outreach/ marketing committee off the ground!
Interested in feedback on these issues, Aron

> Dear Forecastle Sponsors ~
>
> If you are receiving this, your company has booth space at the festival,
>July 28th-29th @ The Mellwood Art Center. While Forecastle will be
>providing tables and chairs for this area of the event, YOU NEED TO BRING A
>CANOPY to protect yourself from the heat. A portable, battery-powered fan
>would also be a good idea.
>
> Set-up for this area of the festival is Thursday, July 27th from 12-3PM.
>Please send someone over during that time, to meet myself and other
>festival organizers. All you'll have to do is find the table with your
>company's name on it, and begin set-up. We'll have secuity there overnight,
>so you don't have to worry a thing. If anyone has any questions, feel free
>to contact me at: 502.472.7555.

> Thanks again and look forward to seeing everyone at Forecastle 2006! ~

> THE FORECASTLE FESTIVAL is the largest gathering of musicians,
>artists, and activists in the American Midwest. Founded in Louisville, KY,
>the scenic, outdoor event is equally based upon a three-part format:
>Music.Art.Activism. Combining the hardest working Midwest bands, legions of
>emerging artists, and multitudes of progressive environmental organizations
>~ Forecastle is the place where the people come together. Last year's fest
>brought in a record attendance at Louisville's historic Cherokee Park. Next
>year's fest ~ with its waterfront setting, expanded line-ups, extreme
>sports park, and finale performances from dual national acts ~ is expected
>to surpass 2005 by five thousand attendees, converging in Louisville from
>the Midwest and beyond.
